Hello
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Karla, I am down to earth, friendly and have often been told I have a calming nature. I have passion for helping others, which is what first drew me to counselling. I believe that we all have the power to overcome the challenges in our lives, when we are nurtured, supported and encouraged. This is what I set out to offer my clients.

To be heard and understood is an empowering experience.
Experience

I have been counselling for eight years, having both volunteered and worked in the charity sector before setting up my own private practice.

Experienced in providing open ended and fixed term counselling, I have worked with clients from many different backgrounds. Carrying out face to face, telephone and online sessions.
I have supported clients with mental health issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD and OCD. I have also worked with many themes such as stress, loneliness, identity, low self-esteem, childhood trauma, family and relationship issues, dissociation, suicidal thoughts and self-harm.

I am trauma informed and have considerable training and experience working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence and domestic violence. I have also worked with family members who are supporting loved ones through their healing journey.
